Steam & Condensate Piping Replacement, Phase II

Loureiro was awarded the final phase of the facility upgrade involving installation of new high pressure steam and condensate piping which supplies continuous service to the neighboring client facility. This high profile construction and critical schedule project required detailed planning and coordination between the general contractor, subcontractors and facility owner.

The scope of work included…

  • Installation of new pipe supports and an anchor for the reconfiguration of piping from below ground to aboveground.
  • new integrated service building to monitor the steam and condensate piping systems with new underground electrical and control services. 
  • The service building required the construction of a concrete foundation and a pre-engineered steel frame building. 
  • Installation of a new 25-foot-high structural steel tower and foundation to support new piping in the connection to an existing pipe bridge & piping.

Highlights

  • Extended planning and coordination efforts resulted in meeting the mandatory one weekend shutdown of the facility steam and condensate system in order to transition from the existing piping to the newly installed piping system.
