Yale University Biology Field Station Repairs

Loureiro Contractors Inc. performed site, concrete and masonry work for the rehabilitation of the seawall and dock at the Yale University Guilford Biological Field Station as a result of damage during Hurricane Sandy. Specific items of work included demolition and reconstruction of a concrete boat ramp, repairs to the masonry seawall and demolition of the damaged steel dock that was replaced with a cast-in-place concrete dock. The concrete dock was a design-build alternative provided by Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. as a cost savings approach.

Additionally, Loureiro demolished a shed located on Horse Island, one of the Thimble Islands, and remove it from the site.
