AST Removal at Brockton Waste Water Treatment Plant

Brockton, Massachusetts

Services: Aboveground and Underground Storage Tanks, Facility Services
Client Served: Industrial (Veolia Water), Government (City of Brockton Massachusetts)

Loureiro removed a 7,500 gallon and a 500 gallon storage tank from a below-ground bunker located adjacent to the WWTP facility in Brockton, Massachusetts. As part of the project, Loureiro was able to find a recycle opportunity for the thirty-year old fuel oil ultimately lowering the cost to the client and eliminating disposal costs. Six concrete panels measuring 12 feet long, 4 feet wide and 15 inches thick weighing approximately 11,000 pounds were removed from the top of the bunker to access the tanks. Both tanks were decontaminated, rendered unusable and placed onto a flatbed trailer for transport to a local metal recycling facility. The concrete panels were replaced and caulked to prevent precipitation from entering the bunker.
