PCB and Asbestos Abatement & Decontamination at Former Southington School

Southington, Connecticut

Services: Facility Services
Clients Served: Municipal, Government

Loureiro performed remediation of PCB & asbestos that contained glaze, caulk, and soil at a former school. The remediation included the removal of windows and doors that were sealed with asbestos and PCB caulking. Loureiro, along with a licensed abatement subcontractor,  removed the asbestos materials and performed the PCB remediation. Polycontainments of various sizes were set up in 16 areas both inside and outside of the building. After each area was cleared for asbestos, Loureiro personnel scarified the concrete blocks along the top and sides of the windows, window sills and interior doorways. All scarified surfaces were encapsulated with two coats of epoxy paint. Each area was air tested, wipe tested and cleared for PCB's before it was turned over to the building trades contractors.

All contaminated windows, doors, debris and soil were disposed of through WorkWaste, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Loureiro.
