Building Addition and Site Improvements, The Church of Saint Ann

Avon, Connecticut

Services: Site
Client Served: Architects

Baker Liturgical Art, LLC was retained by the Church of Saint Ann to assist in the preparation of a building addition to their existing church to serve their growing parish. The existing facility was about 13,000 square feet and included a limited entryway prior to accessing the main nave. The addition would include bathrooms and a sheltered gathering space of considerable size before entering the nave.

Loureiro worked closely with the architect and landscape architect to develop a plan set that was compliant with the applicable planning and zoning regulations, cost effective for the parish and aesthetically pleasing to enhance the bold new entrance and nave gathering space. The improvements included a 2,600 square foot building addition with related stairs, handicapped access points, landscaping, walks, new exterior lighting and parking; a new septic system serving new bathrooms located within the addition; and a new low impact development (LID) stormwater management system serving the new paved parking areas and portions of the existing parking lot. Improvements to the existing expansive parking lot were required by the town and included the addition of various landscaped islands, new handicapped parking facilities, new paving, striping and lighting.
