This project, designed in conjunction with ATR Industries, a paint spray booth manufacturer/installer, consisted of the design of a new paint spray booth to be installed in an existing manufacturing facility.

The utilities were designed as extensions to the existing infrastructure to support the new spray booth including compressed air, fire protection, power and lighting. The new spray booth and the supporting utilities were designed to Class I Division II NFPA 70 guidelines for hazardous areas. The calculations and design of fire rated transfer grilles met NFPA 33 Makeup Air requirements. The utility removal drawings were prepared to remove all unused utilities from the new construction area.

The electrical systems included new power distribution extended from the existing bus duct and new lighting systems. Structural design for the project included support for the new overhead door. Architectural design included modifications to the existing building including new fire rated walls and installation of a large overhead door to provide manufacturing access as well as development of an egress plan.
