An existing drainage culvert carrying Neptune Brook under Neptune Avenue failed, causing the roadway to wash out. The failure also left a twenty foot deep drop-off, which required the roadway to be barricaded and closed.
Work under the contract included the furnishing and installation of 63 linear feet 6’ by 7’ precast concrete three-sided culvert. The project also included other appurtenant work including removal of the existing stone stream channel, cast-in-place concrete foundations for the bridge, backfilling the embankment, road reconstruction, metal beam guardrail, turf restoration and handling water.
Drainage and roadway construction and concrete work are standards in the Loureiro toolbelt. Our crews worked during the winter shutdown period in order to expedite the completion of the project, which had an aggressive 120 day duration.
