Tropical Storm Henri caused significant damage to areas of the State and Manchester was not spared. David Laiuppa, town environmental planner and wetlands agent stated that during the recent storms, “the culvert that goes under Ambassador Drive basically washed out and collapsed the road due to flooding, so this is considered an emergency repair”.
Work under the contract included the furnishing and installation of 90 linear feet of twin 6’x3’ precast concrete box culverts on Ambassador Drive at Lydall Brook. The project also included other appurtenant work such as removal of existing twin asphalt coated corrugated metal pipe culverts that had failed, road reconstruction, precast concrete curb, concrete sidewalk, channel and turf restoration and handling water.
Drainage and roadway construction and concrete work are standards in the Loureiro toolbelt. The crew kept the Town and the affected residents informed of each step of the project and we successfully completed the work and restored the area to better than pre-storm conditions.
