Environmental Services Specialist - Plainville, CT Office

Loureiro Engineering Associates (Loureiro) has an immediate need for an Environmental Services Specialist to add to our team in our Plainville, CT office. Our goal is to employ the right individuals to be a part of our team, learning and working with experienced professionals who will help provide the formal training and mentoring needed to grow professionally and strive toward the opportunities that Loureiro can offer.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct asbestos, lead-paint and PCB building surveys;
  • Collecting environmental samples (RCRA 8, TCLPs, VOCs, and PCBs in various materials), maintaining field equipment, entering data and report writing;
  • Conduct field work on demolition/construction/asbestos abatement projects;
  • Interact with contractors, owners, officials and other parties; following precise directions and regulations;
  • Experience in mold, radon and Industrial Hygiene (IH) is be a plus;
  • Additional relevant certifications include lead inspector/Risk Assessor or Project Designer is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences or closely related field;
  • Current CT Asbestos license in project monitoring and inspector license;
  • Current CT lead-paint inspector/risk assessor license;
  • Must be able to perform field work with exposure to a variety of climatic conditions and potential exposure to hazardous materials and wastes;
  • Demonstrated maturity in judgment, and initiative;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare reports;
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation;
  • 3-5 years of experience preferred;
  • Previous OSHA training: OSHA 10, OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER, and hazardous waste handling experience preferred.

Project Manager - Mechanical Engineer - Plainville, CT Office

Loureiro Engineering Associates is seeking a Project Manager- Mechanical Engineer for our Plainville, CT office. Enthusiastic and energetic, the successful candidate will ensure that clients’ needs are met with the highest quality contract documents and the most intelligent engineering solutions. The Project Manager is also responsible for providing leadership, management, and coordination of both project pursuits and developing staff.

The Mechanical Project Manager manages and oversees all aspects of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection design for building and infrastructure projects to ensure it is completed on-time and within budget. They will work to identify, initiate, develop, maintain and manage a portfolio of clients. Responsibilities include writing proposals, winning business, negotiating contracts/agreements with clients/subcontractors, setting and maintaining project budgets and overseeing projects. They are the main point of contact with clients and coordinates with team members and sub-consultants. They will utilize design skills when working with other Project Managers as they manage the internal teams for successful project completion.

Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall management of a project, including supervision and oversight, plan and report preparation, entitlements and permitting, preparation and monitoring of budgets and schedules, and maintaining positive client and staff relationships;
  • Provide technical reviews, develop quality assurance and quality control procedures for projects, demonstrate planning skills, design and construction schedule, and development of cost estimating and project budgets;
  • Mentoring and supervising technical staff;
  • Monitoring project budgets and schedules;
  • Technical report preparation;
  • Specification writing;
  • Preparation of construction cost estimates;

Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Develop tactical action plans for project and or client pursuits;
  • Manage client/market development teams in the region to address client expectations and outcomes;
  • Identify top desired clients for the year; vet and establish regional client/market development teams;
  • Candidate shall have the demonstrated ability to develop new and maintain existing client relationships within the markets and regions we currently operate. The ideal candidate will have a client base consisting of municipal/public and private/commercial development clients.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years’ of experience in mechanical systems design for industrial, educational and commercial facilities;
  • Managing one or multiple projects for multiple clients;
  • BSME degree from accredited college or university;
  • Professional Engineer (CT PE license);
  • Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD;

Civil Project Engineer - Plainville, CT Office

Loureiro has an immediate opening for a Civil Project Engineer to join our team in our Plainville, Connecticut Office. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of civil and environmental consulting tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of Site Plan applications, permit applications, and design for roadways, sanitary sewers, landfill closures, transfer stations, utilities, and hydraulics;
  • Assists in preparation of proposal estimates of time and expense required to complete the project;
  • Assists in analytical data management, assessment and reporting on site investigation and remediation projects;
  • Participates in major project design decisions in conjunction with the Project Manager;
  • Provides the technical expertise for projects to which assigned;
  • May be delegated responsibility to maintain client contact throughout the development of the project;
  • May serve as Project Manager on certain projects.

Technician - Southington, CT Yard Facility

Loureiro has an immediate opening for a Technician in our equipment/materials storage yard facility in Southington, CT. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and experience with operating a forklift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ordering and maintaining stock;
  • Preparing and filling out equipment request for field crews on a daily basis;
  • Calibrating equipment and repair maintenance;
  • Making arrangements for repairs and monitoring daily inspection logs on Company vehicles;
  • General yard maintenance to include housekeeping, safety equipment inspections, and acting as a liaison with property owners.

Requirements:

Civil Engineer - Manchester, NH Office

Loureiro has an immediate opening for a Civil Engineer in its Manchester, NH office. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience focused on primarily civil site development and stormwater projects. We require a versatile, multi-talented candidate that has a strong work ethic, enjoys taking on responsibility, excels at client service, works independently as well as part of a team, and is motivated to perform high quality work.

Experience must include:

  • Collection of field data in support of civil design and computation of quantities;
  • Field surveying and measurements;
  • Data management, summary, and conversion to support calculations;
  • Basic knowledge of civil site design and development permitting in NH and MA;
  • Research of information required for civil design efforts;
  • General familiarity in applying regulations and codes;
  • Strong Microsoft Office and AutoCAD skills and moderate Civil 3D experience including creating and editing surfaces, pipe networks, and profiles;
  • Confident grading, drainage, and profiling skills;
  • Understanding of stormwater runoff calculations using Rational or TR-55 methods;
  • Good working knowledge with HydroCAD or equivalent;
  • Read and understand engineering and survey drawings, maps, and details;
  • Able to perform initial stormwater management and treatment evaluations;
  • Basic experience with Low Impact Development Designs;
  • Preparation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs);
  • Growing data interpretation and technical report preparation skills;
  • Some experience with preparation of technical specifications and some experience with infrastructure construction oversight and contractor management;
  • Structural Design experience is a plus.

As a senior leader, you will be fully accountable for leveraging Loureiro’ s existing relationships and resources and for successfully selling and consulting on a range of Remediation and Wastewater Environmental Compliance projects to build a sustainable business locally. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business, including marketing to potential and existing clients and be integral in process of securing and managing clients and contracts to expand the North Carolina and Mid-Atlantic U.S. client base;
  • Acting as Project Manager on large, complex projects in fiscal management, client liaison, reporting requirements, and coordination with project team members;

  • Progressive experience in the evaluation, design, permitting and construction administration of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, water storage and distribution facilities, and wastewater collection systems;
  • Demonstrated project management experience including budget and schedule monitoring and control responsibilities;

Loureiro Contractors, Inc. (LCI) is a Connecticut-based contractor with a broad range of experience in infrastructure development, environmental remediation, and demolition. Our in-house capabilities include: site work; concrete construction; soil, groundwater and sediment remediation; roadways; bridges; earth retaining systems; underground utilities; and UST removal and replacement.

LCI has an immediate opening for a Construction Project Engineer in our Plainville, CT office. Projects will include a number of diverse site/concrete/remediation/building construction projects that will assist the project manager in all aspects/phases of the projects, both in the office and the field, including start-up, scheduling, submittals, quality control, project safety, cost control and ultimately, the total delivery of the project according to the established plans and specifications.

Our Co-Op/Internship program offers excellent opportunities during the academic school year and the summer for students to gain hands-on experience in a real work environment.
